At Ikona gallery, in Campo del Ghetto Nuovo, is opened to the public the exhibition CHUCK FREEDMAN, “VENEZIA ICON”, that consists of a collection of photographs by American author Chuck Freedman. The photographs on display show the characters and places of Venetian reality, transfigured by the original eyes of the author, and are result of work of Freedman in Venice, from the 80s to 2003, during the long collaboration with Ikona Gallery.
At Dorsoduro, the other location, Ikona gallery offers a unique and original vision of Venice, through the evocative painting by Eduard Angeli, in the exhibition “VENEZIA NOW”.
Philip Rylands, in the catalog for the gallery Jan Krugier & Cie of Geneva, enhances the sense of melancholy of Angeli, a widespread yearning that compels him to face each new day with brushes and crayons in hand. In his works can be traced a similarity to the paintings of Edward Hopper: 'the sense of loneliness.'
