But i t was the communicative expression of photography which suited him best. I n the last few years he has got himself noticed in amateur photography cir cles for his work which he produces with a personal style using themes bas ed on the territory and society\, conveyed with a conceptual and intimate appearance. He works with 35 mm film\, medium and large format\, together with a couple of alternative pieces of equipment such as a Polaroid or the pioneering pinhole camera\, as well as meddling with various forms of tec hnology and constructing his own cameras to match his needs. Brugnaro make s use of his photography tools in an essential manner\, limiting their use in order to create a maximum expression of functionality and deliberately abstaining from using any instrumental virtuosity.\nHis career includes n umerous personal exhibitions as well as his participation in various colle ctive ones (recently including the 25th edition of the “Immagini d’aut ore” exhibition – Marghera Fotografia 2011)\, taking a podium place at competitions (winner of the Portfolio Lucinico 2011 event) and publicatio ns on specialised printing methods (The Polaroid Art Book - 2010\, FotoCul t - April 2011). Judith Harvest was born in Miami in Florida and now lives and works in New York. Her artistic develop ment took place in Rome\, New York and Urbino. In 1987 she came to Venice where she lived for five years\, painting and presenting a number of exhib itions. For the Venice Biennale 2011 she exhibited a large moon made out o f blue glass which was positioned in front of the Basilica della Salute. Directing him towards a career in the artistic textile se ctor was a trip to Paris where he visited the Textile Art Fair. It was lov e at first sight. Since then his pursuit within this sector has been fille d with valuable experiences at studios in Florence\, Rome\, Zurich and the n in France with stints in the Côte d'Azur\, Provence\, Normandy and fina lly Paris. His textile pieces\, which take on an abstract geometric design \, have been put on show in various European countries. In the early 80s\, after travelling to the USA\, he opened his own studio in Gressoney Saint Jean\, in Val D'Aosta\, where he installed his own looms. To create his d esigns he uses a Swiss horizontal “Arm” loom and a Tunisian vertical o ne. More recently\, with his discovery of graphic art\, Deva devotes himse lf to the study of different engraving techniques\, reproducing his textil e designs on paper. Over time he has continued to develop a personal artistic pursuit\, which has b rought him ceremonial success through his great and overt simplicity and a powerful\, evocative and thriving bravery. Water\, ash and ink are the fe w but essential materials he uses. Speci al studies have been conducted since the 60s by looking at specific dreams of examinated groups including some subjects with special peculiarities: in addition to dreams in color and sharpness they unexpectedly remembered their dreams\, claimed to drive the characters of their personages and dec iding the screenplay and the choreography\, practically they were the dire ctors of their own dreams. It was observed that this capability had multip le purposes and effects\, the characters of lucid dreams had the temperame nts\, the forms and the voices that oneironauts decided to award to them\, as well as they determined what the scenarios and the scripts are suppose d to be. They were the pilots who decided\, at their own will and by lucid dreaming\, wether the characteristics had to match with reality or if new parameters had to be given by applying transformations that finally produ ced a sort of 'fantasy' (film)\, thus they could had achieved their wishes and at the same time been fully aware of the own creative act.\nThe lucid dream is particularly strong thanks to the fact that\, compared to the fe w canonical minutes of standard dreams\, they can be prolonged and that th e scan time is more or less equivalent to the real time. In the western he misphere many have dissertated about 'lucid dreams' including Aristotle\, Thomas Aquinas and Friedrich Nietzsche\, compared to the eastern approach where lucid dreaming is deeply rooted in ancient times. So it can be inter esting for the audience to check out for more\, as lucid dreaming can be i nduced through training in order to develop a capacity that for some is in nate. Of course Art is the supreme instrument that allows to shape the rea lity or to talk about it\, always based on the interpretation and techniqu e of each single artist. The artists are the creators and makers of vision s more or less conventional\, more or less suited to the objective reality . They develop a whole idea or a concept deciding the roles and the positi ons and the times through the use of colors\, materials\, techniques. The aims of the artists are the most different ones. Some may be: to communica te emotionally and so avoiding accidently unintended sophisms stemming fro m the use of words\; to outsource their intimate peculiarities and hidden desires\; to bring up a memory defining new paths and by that altering the experiences of reality. Basically\, artists want to share their beliefs\, their point of view and thoughts that were lived\, to share the passions and perplexities\, report their own or induced experiences\, to be and ima gine that others can be not only pawns but leading actors. What is the art ist if not the oneironaut that not only looks\, lives\, develops\, produce s but exists in order to communicate with the public by metabolizing too w hat comes back from the interaction with the spectator itself\, gently dwe lling in front of or being attracted by the artwork\, expressing own thoug hts and subjective emotions. The title 'Dreaming of Lucidity' wants to be a stimulation to the audience\, led by the qualities of those individual a rtworks. The selection of the artists followed a specific thread by extrap olating from the single individual personality the various references and still-image-experiences. The origin\, extraction\, life of each participan t is very different from each other and provides an emotional spectrum of arguments and aesthetic interpretations. P.
