The International Symposium and the Exhibition “Squares of Europe, Squares for Europe/Places d’Europe, places pour l’Europe” mark the conclusion of a long process: a research and cultural cooperation project supported by the European Commission (Culture 2000 Program). The research examined many urban renewal projects successfully completed in European cities in recent years and have selected sixty case-studies, which are representative of best practices in the design and preservation of city squares.
