Around 1750 the Opera-Comique started as a humoristic musical genre which includes both acting and singing. Influenced by the Romantic spirit, which brought naïve romance and heroic voices to another level. This transformation later resulted in the beginnings of the genre devoted exclusively to comic: operetta.
