Fondazione Gianni Pellicani and Co.Ge present the research 'Volunteering: instructions for use'. The project starts from the georeferenced map of the voluntary associations in the area www.mapin.eu, and aims to analyze the voluntary sector, its dynamics in the territory and its relations with local authorities. The work is part of the project that the Foundation Mapin Pelicans started in 2009 on a municipal basis, building a map of the town associations.
Today the project is developed on a provincial basis, through the creation of a database that includes more than 2,000 associations surveyed during these months. The map obtained georeferenziale has become the starting point for the construction of the report quality monitoring of the associations. This research includes analysis of financial statements, figures and simulations - including the economic value of volunteering in the figurative Province - with tables that allow you to decipher the composite realities of volunteering. For the first time we used a very significant budgets of over 100 associations, which allows us to understand how resources are managed in the world of volunteering.
The study also provides detailed information on the geographic distribution of the associations of the province, their social composition, the breakdown by gender, on age and qualifications of individual volunteers, identifying the sources of financing associations. The subsequent result is an updated picture of the reality of associative Veneziano. The site collects www.mapin.eu continuously update the data of all associations registered in the register of the Regional Province and contact details of associations active in the six largest municipalities of the Province (Venice, Chioggia, Mira Mirano, Portogruaro, San Donà di Piave).
