The time of the Avant-Garde is over. It opened with Impressionism and ended with the Trans Avant-garde. For over a century, every new generation of artists has tried to distance itself from the previous generation by offering a new and different idea of contemporary art. Now all this does not seem to work anymore. The mechanism seems jammed. From the speech generation.
This exhibition and editorial highlights present, in a prestigious museum space, a new 'generation' of artists that deny the legacy of previous generations, taking advantage of the 'inventions' of the Avant-Garde, through a patient, complex, sophisticated synthesis process and contamination.
It becomes quite clear that a 'mechanism' has blown whale in the eyes of everybody focuses attention without ideological bias, on a concrete fact, tangible, easily found: for many years now has been canceled any significant 'generation gap '. Not by chance in selecting works and artists for this project which aims to define better what is meant by 'Post-Avant-Garde' was necessarily matter generational ties.
For the first time, for over a century now, three artists of different generations are next to each other and speak (more or less) the same language. And to listen carefully, it sounds like a new language and ancient at the same time: unprecedented but recognizable. Original but decipherable.
