The theme of immaterial and all the forms of being without matter and going beyond the material - covering
a span of meanings between the traditional spiritual and the contemporary virtual - is rising a renewed interest
in the research of many contemporary artists and architects.
In this regard, Iuav University of Venice and Fondazione Querini Stampalia present a series of joint initiatives,
entitled DELL’IMMATERIALE, curated by Chiara Bertola and Renato Bocchi, which aims to explore and
analyze this vast territory through theoretical debate appointments, proposing the investigation on works of
art and architecture which find their meaning into processes of dematerialization and perceptual alteration
dissolving the boundary between the real and its vision: works made of light, sound, ethereal spaces, and
other ones generated from the relational condition, by the emotional involvement of performative actions.
First appointment of the cycle, Tuesday, May 24th, from 10 to 17, at Querini Stampalia Foundation,
will be the seminar LA MATERIA DEL VUOTO - THE MATTER OF VOID.
Introduced by: Alberto Ferlenga, dean of Iuav University and Marino Cortese, president of Querini
Stampalia Foundation.
