Recommended by the New York Times in the article '36 Hours in Venice,' Venice Music Project are delighted to present our fifth season of concerts, taking you back in time to the era when Venice was a vibrant musical center of international prestige. In addition to concerts by Venetia Antiqua, our resident ensemble, we also host prestigious groups from around the world, continuing our rediscovery of the great tradition of music in the Veneto, performed with original instruments and performance practices. Concerts are held at St. George’s Anglican Church, between the Accademia Bridge and Museum and the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, home of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
In addition to our research on Baroque music and presenting forgotten masterpieces in their first modern performances, an important part of our mandate is the restoration of the Church and other amazing places where we perform, to help the city to remain alive for our own and future generations. This is possible through our US501c3 non-profit organization, Friends of Venice Music Project, our Italian Associazione Culturale for European donations, and additionally a portion of box office receipts.
