Carel Moiseiwitsch, was born in London where she studied painting at St.Martin's Central, at present she dedicates herself to the rehabilitation of people with mental and drug addiction difficulties in the city centre, the poorest and most degenerated urban area in Canada. An artist who has widely exhibited internationally and in her own country, Moiseiwitsch adds to her artistic practice the political and human experience as an activist in support of peace. The main body of the works on show at Nuova Icona are the fruits of this experience, a European Première. Strong and piquant painting which wanders between the apparently cold and detached transcription of the shocking and famous press images, and the subtle, poetic, apparently naive transcription of the everyday tragedy of the Intifada.
