The Accademia Galleries host the richest colletion of works by Vittore Carpaccio. The three canvas on display within the exibit - Sangue del Redentore (1496), Apparizione dei crocifissi del monte Ararat nella chiesa di Sant’Antonio di Castello (1512-13) and the Crocifissione e apoteosi dei diecimila martiri del monte Ararat (1515) - were the last to be restored to accomplish the complete revision of the entire body of Carpaccio's works in the Galleries collection. The restoration process had been sponsored by important patrons: the Apparizione by Banca Intesa, the Crocifissione e apoteosi thanks to a bequest by the well-known American art historian Rona Goffen, and the Sangue del Redentore thanks to Save Venice Inc., California Chapter.
