L'elisir d'amore

L'elisir d'amore is an opera in two acts by Gaetano Donizetti(text by Felice Romani). The opera was staged for the first time on May 12 in 1832 at the Theatre Cannobiana of Milan, which had commissioned it to replace a work that had not been prepared in time by another author. Romani had derived the text from a book written the year before by Eugène Scribe for the composer Daniel Auber, Le Philtre (the filter). At first sang Heinefetter Sabina (in the role of Adina), Giuseppe Frezzolini (Dulcamara), Henry Bernard Debadie (Belcore), Giovan Battista Genero (Nemorino). Characters and main interpreters: Adina - Desiree Rancatore, Nemorino - Celso Albelo, Belcore - Alessandro Luongo, Dr. Dulcamara - Bruno de Simone, Janet - Oriana Kurteshi.

Conductor and Director: Omer Meir Wellber. Directed by: Bepi Morassi. Sets and costumes: Gian Maurizio Fercioni. Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice, Chorus Master Claudio Marino Moretti.
