Curators Francesco Elisei and Fabio Anselmi are presenting the “Supernatural” exhibit for the Bangladesh National Pavilion hosted at the Officine delle Zattere. The exhibit introduces eight members of the Chhakka artist group, renowned on the contemporary art scene in Bangladesh.
The series is filled with a wide selection of works featuring various artistic means such as Mokhlesur Rahman’s representation of the beauty of nature in Bengala or the featured multimedia experiments by Dhali Al Mamoon and Ashok Karmaker.
Female artists Lala Rukh Selim and Yasmin Jahan Nupur are also featured. Selim is a fully accomplished artist whose talents range from writing and critiquing to painting and sculpture. Nupur is a visual artist who uses videos as her means of expression.
The inclusion of artists like South African Gavin Rain and Venice’s own Gianfranco Meggiato broadens the horizon of works on display, bringing an international flair to the exhibition. Rain is a painter dedicated to pointillism and neo-pointillism whose work has a uniquely pigmented aspect. Meggiato is a sculptor known for his use of lost-wax casting in bronze.
