The conference opened a dialogue between social scientists, economists, writers, theorists of language and visual arts on the theme of the economic crisis in Europe and its representations.

Through the four sessions of the conference will be to provide an overview rather large and heterogeneous as the current economic crisis will be tackled and told in various countries - Germany, Southern Europe, the Nordic countries - through various means of communication.
