Curated by Marino Barovier, it will be dedicated to Vittorio Zecchin, an artist who in the 1920s reinterpreted the classicity to revitalize and modernize Murano, the autumnal show of THE ROOMS OF GLASS
On display, a refined production of 250 monochrome blown glass works, realized when the painter was the artistic director at V.S.M. Cappellin Venini & C. (1921-25), first, and then at M.V.M. Cappellin & C (1925-26).
Murano's artist and painter, son of a glass technician, Vittorio Zecchin (1878-1947) was a great protagonist in the glass field in the twentieth century, which contributed to modernize in the 1920s, proposing on the market - with the support of two Enlightened entrepreneurs like Giacomo Cappellin and Paolo Venini - blown monocromas with forms of great elegance that reinterpreted classicism, often inspired by the glasswork of the sixteenth century or the glasses on the paintings of Venetian painters of the sixteenth century.
